NPRA’s Boadi-Mensah Strengthens Ghana’s Pension Architecture

A distinguished Chartered Insurance Practitioner, risk management expert and economic policy analyst, Chris brings over two decades of experience in insurance, finance and corporate leadership to the role.

Since assuming office, he has remained focused on strengthening pension fund management, improving regulatory oversight and ensuring the long-term protection of retirement savings for millions of Ghanaian workers.

Boadi Mensah’s  leadership style is defined by discipline, innovation and a results-driven approach. Over the years, he has built a reputation for transforming organisations, driving growth and steering institutions toward world-class standards.

His academic and professional credentials reflect the depth of his expertise.

He holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Risk Management from the Netherlands Business School, where he gained advanced knowledge in financial strategy and risk mitigation. He also earned a Master of Science in Economic Policy Management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), sharpening his understanding of economic systems and public sector policy.

In addition, he holds a Diploma in Insurance and Risk Management from the West Africa Insurance Institute (WAII) in The Gambia and is a member of both the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), UK, and the Chartered Insurance Institute of Ghana (CIIG).

Throughout his distinguished career, Chris has demonstrated exceptional skill in organisational development and strategic leadership. He has overseen the formulation of policies on investment and risk management designed to protect insurance and pension funds from market volatility, fraud and other financial threats.

Before his appointment to the NPRA, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Byllwych Insurance Brokers Ltd in Accra, where he played a pivotal role in strengthening the company’s market position and expanding its operations.

His impact extends beyond the pensions sector. Chris currently serves as Board Chairman of the National Insurance Commission and is a member of the Financial Stability Council, placing him at the forefront of national conversations on financial regulation and economic stability.
