The New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has paid tribute to fathers across Ghana and around the world in celebration of Father’s Day.
In a message shared on Sunday, Dr. Bawumia acknowledged the sacrifices, dedication and invaluable contributions fathers make towards the growth and well-being of their families and society.
He described fathers as pillars of strength whose guidance, love and commitment play a crucial role in shaping responsible and productive future generations.
“Today, we celebrate and honour all fathers for their unwavering support, sacrifices and the positive impact they make in the lives of their children and families,” he said.
Dr. Bawumia encouraged fathers to continue upholding strong family values and to remain active participants in the upbringing and development of their children.
He noted that responsible fatherhood remains essential to building cohesive families and a prosperous nation.
The former Vice President also extended warm wishes to fathers, praying for good health, wisdom and strength as they continue to fulfil their responsibilities.
Father’s Day is observed annually in many countries to recognise and appreciate the role fathers and father figures play in nurturing families and contributing to national development.
Across Ghana, families marked the occasion with church services, social gatherings and expressions of appreciation for fathers and guardians.
