Sampa Nursing Training College Principal Calls for Integrated Medical Practice at Global Conference

The Principal of Sampa Nursing Training College, Albert Opoku, has called for a more integrated approach to medical practice, stressing the importance of combining anatomy, cardiology, and pediatric care to improve healthcare outcomes globally.

Mr. Opoku made the call while addressing participants at the joint international conference, AnatomyAdvances 2026, CardioCare 2026 and PediaCare 2026, held in Birmingham, where he also served as Chairman.

Speaking to an audience of researchers, clinicians, and healthcare professionals from across the world, the Ghanaian health educator emphasized the growing need for interdisciplinary collaboration in healthcare as medicine continues to evolve through technological innovation.

According to him, advances in artificial intelligence, virtual reality, precision medicine, and sophisticated diagnostic tools are rapidly transforming medical practice, making stronger partnerships among medical disciplines more critical than ever.
“Medicine is changing at an unprecedented pace, and collaboration across disciplines is essential if we are to improve patient outcomes and strengthen healthcare delivery systems globally,” he noted.
Mr. Opoku described anatomy as the bedrock of medical science and surgical innovation, explaining that emerging technologies are reshaping how the discipline is taught and applied in clinical settings.
Touching on cardiovascular health, he observed that although heart-related diseases remain the leading cause of death worldwide, significant breakthroughs in minimally invasive procedures, precision medicine, and data-driven diagnostics are improving prevention and treatment.
He further underscored the importance of pediatric and neonatal healthcare, calling for greater efforts to ensure equitable access to quality healthcare for children, particularly in regions where preventable diseases continue to threaten lives.
Mr. Opoku urged healthcare professionals, researchers, and educators to embrace interdisciplinary cooperation, mentor young practitioners, and share innovative ideas to advance healthcare systems worldwide.
In recognition of his contributions to healthcare education, research, and the advancement of global medical practice, Mr. Opoku received the Global Health Research Meritorious Award during the conference.
Participants at the conference commended his leadership and dedication to healthcare education, describing the recognition as a testament to his commitment to strengthening medical training and improving global health outcomes.
The conference brought together experts from various countries to deliberate on emerging developments in anatomy, cardiology, pediatrics, and medical technology.
