The current National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of National First Vice Chairman of the party.
In a statement addressed to party executives, elders, patrons and members, Nana B said his decision was driven by a deep sense of duty and a desire to help reposition the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Nana B said his 26 years of active service within the NPP had equipped him with the experience needed to strengthen the party’s structures, reconnect with its grassroots and contribute to its quest to return to power.
“By the grace of God, and after twenty-six (26) years of active service to our party, I believe the experience and lessons I have gained have prepared me to help strengthen our party structures, reconnect with our grassroots and contribute meaningfully to our collective mission of returning the New Patriotic Party to government in 2028,” he said.
He highlighted his extensive service to the party, beginning as a polling station agent during the 2000 general elections in the then Manhyia Constituency and later serving in various constituency, regional, student and national leadership positions.
His previous roles include TESCON President at the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Director of Events and Programmes of the National Youth Wing, National Youth Organiser, and Vice Chairman of the International Young Democrat Union (IYDU).
At the national level, Nana B has served as a member of the NPP’s National Communications Team, National Steering Committee, National Executive Committee and National Council. He was also a member of the party’s 2020 Presidential Election Petition Legal Team, the 2020 and 2024 National Campaign Teams, and the Planning Committee for the 2025 National Delegates Conference.
He said his aspiration is anchored on unity and a renewed determination to rebuild the party for electoral success.
