Ken Ofori-Atta’s lawyers complained to INTERPOL that the Red Notice was dubiously submitted by Ghana against INTERPOL’s own constitution i.e:
- No political persecution/ vendetta
- Issues of administrative charges such as procurements, PFMA ( public financial mgmt) are not to be considered
- There must be charges in a court of competent jurisdiction
Once the OSP’s charges were announced, INTERPOL immediately pulled the Red Notice posting from their website because OSP had confirmed KOA’s lawyers complaints to INTERPOL.
Sadly, OSP has now put Ghana in the category of rogue States such as Syria, Korea, Russia UAE who abuse the INTERPOL
