The bankroller of Kumasi-based Division One side King Faisal, Alhaji Grusah, has expressed concern to Ghana Football Association president Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, asking him to reveal the package he has for the Division One league clubs.
At the 32nd GFA Ordinary Congress, the GFA announced that prize money and funds given to the 18 clubs have been increased to ease the financial burdens of participating clubs in the Ghana Premier League, leaving the Division One league without a slide of the package.
In an interview on Asamoah FM, Alhaji Grusah stated that, ‘ The GFA president must share some of the package with the Division One league clubs to ease our financial burdens.
‘ We are only considered when you want our vote to make a decision body, Division One clubs must also get some of the money given to the Premier League clubs’. He said
Last season Division One sponsors Access Bank allocated 120,000 to each of the 48 participating clubs in Division One, with equipment of 30 pairs of football boots.
Also, fuel allocation via Goil and continuous backing from Melcom.
Match Officiating Fees also absorbed by the Ghana Football Association (GHS 2,520,000 with zonal winners receiving specialised prizes, including buses and GHS 200,000 in prize money.
In addition, Alhaji Grusah stressed the needed resource all 48 clubs ahead of the upcoming Division One league which commences on the 18th of September 2026.
He added that , Fixture of the upcoming season is out but he’s not convinced if all the Division one clubs received their monies from last season’s title sponsor and encourages the GFA to do the needful.
