Ejisu NPP Cracks Must Close Now: Agyeman-Budu Demands Unity After Bawumia Victory

Political Desk Report

In a firm and uncompromising call for party discipline and unity, Dr. Kwame Agyeman-Budu has issued a strong message to members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ejisu Constituency, warning that internal divisions after the party’s presidential primaries could threaten the party’s chances in the 2028 General Elections.

Speaking in the aftermath of the fiercely contested internal elections, Dr. Agyeman-Budu made it clear that the era of internal rivalry must give way to collective action, insisting that the NPP has no luxury for bitterness, factions, or silent protest.

“The elections are over. A winner has been declared. What remains now is unity, reconciliation, and hard work,” he stressed.

No Room for Division

Addressing supporters of all five (5) presidential aspirants, Dr. Agyeman-Budu warned against allowing disappointment to fracture the party’s base, particularly at the constituency level where electoral battles are won or lost.

He acknowledged that not every supporter would be satisfied with the outcome but maintained that personal preferences must now bow to party interest.

“Our differences are insignificant compared to our shared mission—to retain power and continue the NPP’s development agenda,” he declared.

Tribute to Aspirants, But Loyalty to the Winner

Dr. Agyeman-Budu praised the five aspirants for what he described as “spirited, competitive, and democratic campaigns” that strengthened the party’s internal democracy. However, he was unequivocal that the time for campaigning has ended.

He openly called on all former aspirants and their supporters to rally behind the party’s flagbearer without hesitation or conditions.

Bawumia Is the Choice — Fall in Line

The statement leaves no ambiguity about the party’s next direction. H.E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, he emphasized, is the democratically chosen leader of the NPP and must now enjoy the full backing of every loyal party member.

“This is not about individuals. It is about the future of the New Patriotic Party and the future of Ghana,” he said.

Beyond Ejisu, the statement was also a signal to the wider Ghanaian electorate. Dr. Agyeman-Budu insisted the NPP must demonstrate maturity, cohesion, and the ability to put national interest above personal ambition.

“We must show Ghanaians that we are a party capable of resolving our differences and governing with unity and purpose.”

In a clear warning shot, Dr. Agyeman-Budu reminded party members that the 2028 elections are not far away, and complacency or internal sabotage would be costly.

“Together we can achieve great things. Divided, we risk everything.”

As the NPP prepares for the next electoral battle, the message from Ejisu is unmistakable: close ranks, fall in line, and move forward—or risk handing power away.
