It relies on some forty associations and cells to promote the invaluable legacy of El Hadj Omar Tall, a man of God of exceptional historical significance in 19th-century Africa.
It was to this end that the religious leader addressed the press ahead of the annual ziarra(Pilgrimage)in Halwar. During this meeting with the media, he reflected on the legacy of the holy man Cheikhou Omar Foutiyou Tall.
“We have invited you here today to talk to you about the work and life of Cheikhou Omar Foutiyou through the RENDDO association, which has more than 25,000 active members around the world. When he left, he called for a “jihad,” and Senegal and all of Africa accompanied him on his conquest until his mysterious disappearance in the cliffs of Bandiagara. And it is recognized by all, even by the former colonial power: only your grandfather Cheikh Omar had the privilege of disappearing mysteriously, and he continues to live among us, and his messages continue to be conveyed by his descendants, notably by his khalif Thierno Mohamad Al Bachir Tall,” the religious leader echoed.
