The Africa Monologue Challenge (AMC) reached a significant milestone on Monday as High Commissioners and Consuls from participating countries visited Nouvelle Place in Adjiriganor, East Legon, to select rooms for their respective finalists at the newly established Pan-African House.
The room selection, conducted on a first-come, first-served basis, saw diplomatic representatives arrive throughout the afternoon to choose accommodations for the 12 finalists who will take up residence at the facility from 30th August to 1st October 2026. The Pan-African House will serve as the creative hub and residence for the finalists during the month-long cultural exchange and reality show production.
The process was led by Nana Abena Dankwaa Ahenkan, Acting Managing Director of Bombo Investments, who took each High Commission through the 12 rooms for them to make their choice. Since the rooms vary in layout, orientation, and view, the organisers and finalists adopted the first-come, first-served approach to ensure fairness in room allocation. Diplomatic corps who arrived earlier had the upper hand in the selection process.
His Excellency Jean-Pierre Diassouka, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Congo, was the first to arrive, securing Room 9 for the Congolese finalist. Speaking to the press, he stated, “We came first and it is a sign we are winning. I am already inviting everyone to come to Congo to see the beauty of the country as we are sure our finalist is winning the competition.” He further added, “We are ready to support the AMC and our finalist to ensure platforms like the AMC continue to unite Africa.”
He was followed by His Excellency Albert Mateyo Chifita, Deputy High Commissioner of Zambia, who selected the room for Zambia’s finalist. Ambassador Chifita emphasised the importance of supporting the creative economy, stating, “It is time the creative economy is supported so that they can lead in the intra-African trade agenda and Africa integration. As the politicians have led, and other sectors have also tried, it is time to assist such platforms to also pursue their approach which he believes will help in achieving regional integration.”
Mr. George Dinda, representing the Kenya High Commission expressed Kenya’s pride in having a finalist in the competition, noting his happiness at selecting the room for the Kenyan representative. His Excellency Thomas Okyere, Honorary Consul of Botswana, pledged his country’s commitment to initiatives that promote Pan-Africanism and their readiness to support both the AMC and the Botswana finalist.
The diplomatic corps were given between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM to arrive for their room selection. The remaining High Commissions are expected to follow the same process to select rooms and tailor them to truly represent their countries using flags, national symbols, images of their presidents, notable personalities from their home countries, and cultural artifacts. As the event will be documented as a reality show with extensive media publicity, each room will serve as a visual representation of its nation for storytelling by the finalists and partner influencers.
Chairman of the AMC Organising Committee, Mr. Harold Roger Quartey, expressed enthusiasm about the significance of the moment. “AMC Season 3 will be a solid platform for Africa’s unification agenda,” he said, pledging the commitment of his team to deliver an unforgettable experience to the finalists.
Mr. Mawuko Kuadzi, CEO of MK Casting and AMC, expressed appreciation to the diplomatic corps for their participation in the room selection process.
Nana Dwomoh-Doyen Benjamin, president of the African Chamber of Content Producers (ACCP) and COO of the AMC, noted that the initiative is following the fire already sparked by Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the father of Pan-Africanism. “Ghana has long been considered a hub for Pan-Africanism,” he said, “and AMC Season 3 will project that vision to the rest of the world.”
The Africa Monologue Challenge is an annual pan-African performing arts competition and cultural exchange project. It is a rotating event that began in Ghana for Season 1, moved to Uganda for Season 2, and is now returning to Ghana for Season 3 under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Film Authority of Ghana, the Ghana Tourism Authority, the Diaspora Affairs Office of the President, and the Africa Prosperity Network. AMC unites Africa’s creative economy, projects a positive narrative of the continent, and celebrates Pan-African culture through storytelling.
