A member of the “Wontumi for NPP Chair” campaign team, Dr Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, has expressed confidence that Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, is strongly positioned to win the upcoming chairmanship race of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to him, strategic measures are already being implemented to secure victory for Chairman Wontumi in the contest for the party’s national chairmanship position.
Dr Boakye-Danquah argued that the NPP requires a “hard-core” chairman capable of energising and uniting the party’s grassroots base ahead of the 2028 general elections. He stressed that such leadership would be crucial in rallying party faithful behind the NPP’s flagbearer, Mahamudu Bawumia, as the party seeks to wrest political power from the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He described Chairman Wontumi as an experienced politician with years of dedicated service to the NPP, insisting that his political background and organisational experience make him well-suited to effectively manage the affairs of the chairmanship position.
“Chairman Wontumi has demonstrated loyalty, commitment and leadership within the party over the years, and we believe he possesses the capacity to unite the rank and file of the NPP for victory,” he stated.
Dr. Boakye-Danquah maintained that supporters of the campaign remain optimistic that Wontumi’s leadership would strengthen party cohesion and reposition the NPP ahead of future electoral contests.
