Bawumia Emerges as NPP’s “Only Winning Card” for 2028

…Campaign Boosted by Key Endorsements from Grassroots

The growing wave of endorsements reflects widespread confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s candidacy. From electoral area coordinators and constituency executives to former MPs, campaign strategists, and grassroots organizers, support for the former Vice President is pouring in across the country.

The declarations captured so far reveals pattern of continuous believe in the candidacy of Dr. Bawumia who enjoys widespread support flowing in from electoral area coordinators, constituency executives, former MPs, campaign strategists, and grassroots organisers nationwide.

Party supporters cite his winnability, marketability, forward-looking vision, and reputation for bright, transformative ideas as reasons behind the growing calls for him to lead the NPP into the 2028 general elections.

Many within the party also believe that, having served as Vice President and the party’s 2024 presidential candidate, Dr. Bawumia remains the most prepared and nationally recognized figure to guide the NPP back to power.

Mass Endorsements Across Multiple Constituencies

A significant number of electoral area coordinators—representing core grassroots structures—have publicly declared support for Dr. Bawumia in recent weeks. Across these constituencies the support ranges from 80% to 93% support.  The following represent only a handful of the major blocs recorded:

* Prestea Huni Valley: 28 of 32 coordinators pledged support (87.5%)

* New Juaben South: 30 of 34 coordinators endorsed him (88.2%)

* Akuapem North: 29 of 31 coordinators declared support (93.5%)

* Assin South: Coordinators were reported to be united behind the former Vice President (percentage not available)

* Mfantseman: 34 of 36 coordinators reaffirmed their stance (94.4%)

Several coordinators emphasized unity among polling station executives and described Dr. Bawumia as the only candidate capable of energizing the base and appealing broadly to the Ghanaian electorate.

Former Party Executives Join Surging Support Base

Across various constituencies, former party leaders have also rallied behind the former Vice President.

In Mfantseman, 37 of 47 former constituency executives endorsed him, saying a thorough assessment of the party’s political trajectory makes Bawumia the most strategic choice.

Additionally, 30 of 47 youth organizers in the Central Region have declared support, vowing to champion a vigorous grassroots campaign to secure victory for him in 2026 and beyond.

Supporters in these groups argue that Dr. Bawumia’s experience, exposure, and strong national profile make him the NPP’s most marketable candidate for 2028.

Constituency Executives Strengthen the Wave

Several constituency executives have added their voices to the growing list of endorsements.

In Mpohor, Constituency Chairman Razak Dadzie promised to deliver 80% of the constituency’s votes, cautioning delegates against “the mistake” of overlooking the party’s most marketable candidate.

In Nkwanta South, First Vice Chairperson Pius Amewu pledged 90% support in 2026, stressing that Dr. Bawumia remains the only contender capable of returning the party to power.

In Agona East, the party’s 2024 parliamentary candidate, Hannah Asamoah, urged delegates to stick with Dr. Bawumia, likening political consistency to business longevity:

“We don’t build a strong market by constantly changing products.”

Executives in Akan and Asikuma Odoben Brakwa have also commended his leadership qualities and endorsed his bid.

These declarations represent only a sample of similar expressions of support from constituencies across the country.

Defections and High-Profile Individual Endorsements Add to Momentum

In addition to mass and executive-level declarations, several prominent figures and former opponents have crossed over to support Dr. Bawumia.

In Asunafo South, Deputy Constituency Secretary Eric Agyemang, previously a key organizer for the Kennedy Agyapong campaign, publicly defected to Team Bawumia, withdrawing past criticisms and acknowledging that earlier claims against the former Vice President were “lies and falsehood.”

Former Kade MP Ofosu Asamoah, who served as Campaign Manager for Kwabena Agyapong, also announced his switch, saying a reassessment of the party’s internal dynamics convinced him to support Dr. Bawumia’s bid.

Other individual endorsements have come from:

* Michael Okyere Baafi, MP for New Juaben South

* Former Akwatia MP, Mercy Adu-Gyamfi (Ama Sey)

* Several former constituency executives and long-serving party strategists across various regions

Support Driven by Winnability, Marketability & Vision

Across regions, supporters consistently cite the same reasons for backing Dr. Bawumia:

* Winnability: He is viewed as the NPP’s strongest candidate for the 2028 general elections.

These factors, supporters say, position him uniquely to unify the party and mount a formidable national campaign.
