The First Vice Chairperson of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Nkwanta South, Pius Amewu, has reaffirmed the constituency’s unwavering support for the party’s presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, ahead of the 2026 general elections.
Speaking during Dr. Bawumia’s campaign tour of the area, Mr. Amewu pledged that the people of Nkwanta South would deliver a decisive victory for the NPP flagbearer, promising up to 90 percent of the votes in the constituency.
He said the people of Nkwanta South have confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s leadership and vision for Ghana, which continues to inspire hope and loyalty within the grassroots base of the party.
“You were here last year [2024], and you sold your vision to us and requested that we vote for you to be the party’s flagbearer. We did that, but unfortunately, the party lost, but not you. Today, you are campaigning again and have come to us here in Nkwanta. I, on behalf of the executives, say to you that we will give you 90 percent of the vote come January 31, 2025,” Mr. Amewu declared.
The constituency executives also assured Dr. Bawumia of their readiness to mobilise voters, strengthen party structures, and intensify grassroots engagement ahead of the 2026 polls. They expressed optimism that the upcoming elections would mark a turning point for the NPP in the Oti Region.
Dr. Bawumia’s visit to Nkwanta South formed part of his nationwide campaign tour aimed at rallying grassroots support and engaging communities on his vision for economic transformation, digital innovation, and national unity.
The NPP flagbearer is expected to continue his regional campaign engagements with meetings, community interactions, and rallies across the country as part of efforts to consolidate the party’s base and communicate his development agenda.
