A leading member of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team and Member of Parliament for Tano North, Dr. Gideon Boako, has lauded the overwhelming show of support and enthusiasm demonstrated by delegates and party faithful in the Bono East Region, describing it as a strong vote of confidence in the leadership and vision of the former Vice President.
Speaking to the media after the campaign tour, Dr. Boako said the reception accorded Dr. Bawumia by New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates was not only heartwarming but also a clear indication that a broad consensus has already been forged around his candidacy ahead of the party’s upcoming presidential primaries.
“There is no doubt that a strong consensus has been built as to who delegates have decided to vote for this time to lead the party. It’s quite refreshing that in the very first region you visit, you are greeted with such overwhelming endorsement and positive energy,” Dr. Boako remarked.
He added that the feedback received during the tour confirms that the support Dr. Bawumia enjoyed during the 2023 NPP presidential primaries remains solid—and has even grown stronger.
“If you want to summarise the Bono East tour, it’s all about optimism and renewed commitment. In 2023 they went for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and this time they are even more determined to go again,” he emphasized.
Dr. Bawumia concluded his Bono East campaign tour after engaging delegates in all 11 constituencies, wrapping up in Techiman North and South. He assured party members of his unwavering dedication to transforming Ghana into a modern, prosperous nation through innovation, digitalization, and inclusive development.
The former Vice President cited key national achievements under his leadership—such as the Ghana Card, mobile money interoperability, and the Zipline medical drone service—as evidence of his proven ability to deliver tangible, world-class results.
The Bono East leg forms part of Dr. Bawumia’s broader “Our Journey Together” campaign, which is focused on reconnecting with delegates and grassroots supporters nationwide as he seeks to lead the New Patriotic Party into the next general election.
