Several Ghanaian Tomato, Onion Traders and Importers Killed by Jihadist in Burkina Faso

The Ministry of the Interior has confirmed that it received communication from Ghana’s Embassy in Burkina Faso about the deaths of some Ghanaian tomato merchants and truck drivers following an attack by the Islamist militant group JNIM in Titao, Burkina Faso.

Reports indicate that several trucks transporting tomatoes were set ablaze, with male drivers and traders reportedly killed while female traders were spared.

The Government of Ghana is currently collaborating with the Burkinabè authorities to identify the deceased victims and facilitate the rescue and support of the surviving individuals.
