Prez Mahama Slammed…Over Alleged Sanctioning of Violent Attack on NPP Members in Ablekuma North

President John Mahama has come under intense criticism following his failure to condemn violent attacks allegedly perpetrated against members and national executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during the rerun of polls in 19 polling stations in the Ablekuma North Constituency.

Multiple reports and videos circulating on social media allege that the violence was sanctioned at the highest level, with claims that the assailants — described as NDC-affiliated thugs — were mobilised from the Jubilee House and dispatched to the constituency with specific instructions to assault NPP members.

Among the victims of the attacks was Hon. Hawa Koomson, former Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, who was reportedly beaten by a group of about 15 assailants. Other victims included the Deputy National Organiser of the NPP and several NPP polling agents, all of whom were allegedly targeted and attacked at various polling stations.

The incident has sparked public outrage and condemnation, with calls for accountability and justice. Critics argue that President Mahama’s silence amounts to tacit approval of the violence, deepening fears over political intolerance and the erosion of democratic principles ahead of the 2024 elections
