The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has strongly denied allegations that it engaged a Ukrainian public relations firm, Brandcom, to orchestrate an online smear campaign during the 2024 presidential election.
In a statement issued by its National Communications Directorate, the party described the claims—first reported by AllAfrica.com on 31 July 2025—as “completely false, baseless, and defamatory.”
The report alleged that Brandcom is demanding $280,000 from the NPP for services rendered in running a covert digital campaign, including the operation of fake social media accounts and the creation of politically targeted content. However, the NPP insists it has no contractual relationship—past or present—with any entity by that name.
“At no point did the leadership of the NPP engage, authorise, or instruct any foreign agency to operate fake social media accounts, produce smear campaign content, or undertake any unethical digital activities,” the party stated.
The NPP maintained that its electoral campaigns have always been rooted in integrity, policy-driven messaging, and respect for democratic values. It accused those behind the publication of attempting to tarnish its reputation and sow public distrust.
Describing the report as a deliberate act of misinformation, the party is demanding a full retraction and says it reserves the right to pursue legal action against Brandcom and any outlet that republishes the allegations without verification.
The NPP is urging the public and media to remain vigilant against what it calls “faceless entities seeking to discredit legitimate political actors.”
