MP Urges Government to Complete Abandoned Agenda 111 Hospital Project in Diaso

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Upper Denkyira West in the Central Region, Rudolf Amoako-Gyampa, has appealed to government and the Ministry of Health to urgently resume and complete the abandoned Agenda 111 hospital project at Diaso.

The project, which was initiated under the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration, is said to be about 45 percent complete but was abandoned by contractors prior to the 2024 general election. Since then, the site has become overgrown with weeds, with no security presence to safeguard construction materials or the partly completed structures.

Mr. Amoako-Gyampa expressed concern that the neglect of the project has left residents of Upper Denkyira West struggling to access basic healthcare. He noted that many constituents are compelled to travel long distances in search of medical attention, a situation that often results in avoidable loss of lives and worsening health conditions.

“The people of Upper Denkyira West are suffering. The delay in completing this project has serious consequences for healthcare delivery in the constituency,” he lamented.

The MP stressed that completing the Diaso hospital would be a critical step in improving healthcare delivery and ensuring residents have access to essential medical services. He also called for a stronger commitment to continuity in governance.

“Regardless of political transitions, it is vital that development projects are completed. That is the only way state resources can be put to good use,” he added.

Mr. Amoako-Gyampa maintained that the completion of the Diaso Agenda 111 hospital would not only bring relief to his constituents butw also strengthen the overall healthcare system in the Central Region.
