Rabat, August 18, 2025 (MAP) – Against the backdrop of the dramatically worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, President of the Al-Quds Committee, has given His High Instructions for the dispatch of additional and urgent humanitarian aid for Palestinian civilians, victims of a devastating blockade.
This aid, consisting of approximately 100 tons of food supplies and essential medicines, is specifically intended for the most vulnerable groups, particularly children and infants, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates.
The initiative comes at a time when access to humanitarian aid has become increasingly difficult: international convoys are either blocked at the Egyptian border (with more than 5,000 trucks waiting, according to Egyptian authorities) or facing extreme security conditions in Jordan, as tragically illustrated by the recent deaths of two humanitarian workers.
In the face of such obstacles, Moroccan aid stands out for its direct and well-coordinated delivery route: airlifted to a secure entry point, then transported by truck directly to beneficiaries on the ground—ensuring speed, efficiency, and dignity for affected populations.
To ensure effectiveness and legitimacy, the aid operation is being carried out in close coordination with the official structures of the Palestinian Authority, particularly the Palestinian Red Crescent, and with the prior approval of the Israeli authorities, reflecting Morocco’s respected and pragmatic diplomacy in the region.
Through this strong and exemplary humanitarian act, His Majesty King Mohammed VI once again reaffirms Morocco’s credibility, commitment, and consistency in supporting the brotherly Palestinian people. Only leadership endowed with such moral and political legitimacy can undertake such an initiative with seriousness, discretion, and real impact.
Morocco has always made it clear that its relationship with Israel will never come at the expense of its historic commitment to the Palestinian cause. On the contrary, Rabat places its channels and relations at the service of concrete action for the Palestinians, far from any overbidding or political instrumentalization.
This new dispatch of humanitarian aid reflects His Majesty the King’s constant concern over the alarming situation in Gaza—marked by severe malnutrition and risks of famine—as well as the Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to alleviating the suffering of Palestinian civilians, particularly in their most critical moments.
Through this exemplary humanitarian initiative, Morocco demonstrates once again that solidarity is not expressed only in words but embodied in tangible, effective, and hopeful actions.
