Ghana’s Minister of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has inaugurated a new nine-member Governing Board of the Ghana Export-Import Bank (GEXIM), with a charge to champion the country’s export-led industrial transformation.
The board, chaired by Dr. Joseph Nyarkotei Dorh, includes distinguished professionals from finance, trade, and industrial sectors. Members are:
Samuel Danquah Arkhurt, Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry
Sampson Ahi, Second Deputy Governor, Bank of Ghana
Matilda Asante-Asiedu, CEO, Ghana Export Promotion Authority
Francis Kojo Kwarteng Arthur
Stephen Abbas Miezan
Adamu Robert Akati
Millicent Samira Lardi Glawu
Sylvester Adinam Mensah, CEO, GEXIM
Minister Ofosu-Adjare emphasized the critical role of GEXIM in advancing Ghana’s export economy, stating, “I expect that you execute your mandate professionally and effectively, all in the name of improving our exports.”
On behalf of the board, Dr. Dorh thanked President John Mahama for the appointment and outlined five key focus areas:
- Strengthening agriculture and agribusiness value chains
- Increasing food production to enhance food security
- Promoting import substitution and export diversification
- Accelerating the export of garments and apparel
- Aligning with government development strategies within GEXIM’s mandate
