DIDI DRAMANI – HEARTS OF OAK READY TO COMPETE AND CELEBRATE DEMOCRACY

Accra Hearts of Oak head coach, Didi Dramani, has shared his thoughts ahead of the 2025 Democracy Cup, emphasizing both the symbolic and sporting importance of the fixture.

Dramani praised the initiative, noting that the occasion goes beyond football and serves as a proud reminder of Ghana’s democratic standing.

“The most important part of this dispensation is to see Ghana as the pinnacle of democracy in Africa,” Dramani said. “We’re preparing a team that can compete for every trophy in the upcoming season.”

The Hearts of Oak boss underlined that his team feels privileged to represent the country on such a platform.

“We see it as a privilege to be the face of Ghana’s democracy, I mean using football. And with the democracy, promoting it through football. For us, this game comes at a perfect time as we prepare for the main league, giving us both the competitive edge and the opportunity to celebrate our values as a nation.”

Dramani also highlighted his coaching philosophy, insisting that mental strength and decision-making are more decisive than tactical systems.

“I don’t believe it is systems that win games, but rather the mentality of the players and the decisions they make on the pitch,” he explained.

Looking to the bigger picture, the coach stressed the importance of developing players beyond the football pitch.

“Our focus now is to help the players understand that we are shaping them for greatness. What they do both on and off the pitch is equally important to their growth and success,” he concluded.

The Phobians will use the Democracy Cup as both a statement of intent and a stepping stone into a season where they aim to challenge for honors on every front.
